Without a doubt today’s most hyped game is Miami visiting Cameron Indoor Stadium today. That shouldn’t overshadow all of the great games going on today in this crazy madness we call March.
(20)Butler at Virginia Commonwealth – Noon ESPN2 – When Butler and VCU joined the Atlantic 10 this became one of the highlight games of the season. If you asked anyone in college basketball who the two best coaches are under the age of 40, there is little doubt VCU’s Shaka Smart (35) and Butler’s Brad Stevens (36) top that list.
There are a lot of reasons this is an intriguing match-up but the most important reason is the A-10 title. The Rams sit second at 10-3 in conference play while the Bulldogs are third at 9-4. Both teams trail St. Louis who is 11-2 in conference play. A Butler win puts them in a tie for second with VCU.
(10)Louisville at (12)Syracuse – Noon CBS – Louisville and Syracuse are both teams who have had great success this season followed by a losing streak. Syracuse beat Louisville in January by two starting them on their three game slide that took them out of the top ten. Syracuse has found a way to lose five out of their last nine contests since their last meeting with the Cardinals, including losing their last two.
Louisville looks for revenge andto stay in second place in the Big East with a win today while Syracuse looks to move into the pack tied for second with a win over the Cardinals.
Miami @ Duke – 6pm – ESPN– Ryan Kelly may return and see limited action tonight when the Hurricanes visit Cameron Indoor Stadium, but it’s more likely the Devils will have to play one more game without him.
This is a pure revenge game after Duke’s awful loss 27-point loss at Miami on January 23. Couple that with Duke coming off a loss at Virginia and this one could spell disaster for surprising Miami. The Hurricanes are for real this year and have the ability to be a contender in the tournament but they face their biggest challenge of the season traveling to Durham today.
