In the most lopsided game of the Atlantic 10 Tournament, VCU dominated their cross-town rival Richmond, 71-53. From the opening tip to the closing minutes, the Rams were in full control. Briante Weber scored the first six points in the game before finishing with 18 points on 8-10 shooting.

The Rams smallest lead in the second half was 14 points as the Spiders shot just 34 percent from the floor. First team All-CAA forward, Traveon Graham finished with 14 points and six rebounds, while Melvin Johnson had 13. The game felt like a home game for VCU as the Barclays Center was covered in yellow. Coach Shaka Smart said in his press conference that he wanted the fans to know how much they help the Rams, who had by far the largest and loudest support of any team thus far.

The Spiders for the most part relied on ShawnDre’ Jones who finished with 18 points on 5-10 shooting. But star guard, Kendall Anthony, finished with just seven points on 2-15 shootings. For the second straight night Terry Allen finished in double-figures with 15 points. But besides Jones, Anthony, and Allen’s 40 points, the rest of the Spiders scored only 13 points.

VCU will take on the winner of George Washington/UMass in tomorrow’s second semifinal game.
