Dates: March 6-11
Location: Las Vegas, NV
The West Coast Conference has four 20-win teams in conference this year but only one in the top 25. If there is an upset in the conference tournament they could land two teams in the field of 68.
Predicted Champ: Gonzaga (25-6, 15-3 WCC)
The Bulldogs have appeared in the tourney title game every single year since 1998, winning 11 and losing five. Their most recent title game appearance was a 14-point win over St. Mary’s last March. Their three conference losses this year is tied for the most in any of Coach Mark Few’s 15 seasons at Gonzaga, but it is hard to bet against a coach who has made it to the NCAA tourney every single year he stands on the sideline.
Brigham Young (21-10, 13-5), San Francisco (20-10, 13-5), Saint Mary’s (21-10, 11-7). Only BYU has beaten Gonzaga this year but San Francisco and Saint Mary’s have proven they could have what it takes to beat the Bulldogs. The darkhorse in the tournament is San Diego. They beat Gonzaga once and lost by three in their first meeting.
